I was surfing Pinterest and came across these and said " I love these" I need a couple of them! I have a little table that I can fit a few under, which we use in our school area. Anyways, I also have a lot of fabric pieces to choose from in my old hobby room I share with my husband. I went down to Home Depot and asked the helper to cut a piece of Ply from a scrap pile and he was able to get 9 pieces out of it. He wrote on a slip it was an orange code $ 4.01 :) smiles for that. I purchased a new pack of staples for my staple gun and a pack of foam at Wal-Mart and My daughter and I were ready to make our seats. We are going to be making one for her sister and brother soon.

To help keep some sence of organization during the school day

I was needing some sort of way to keep my son organized and started to look around on the Internet and found a large variety of home school families using this sort of "Work Box method" so with that in mind I said I would give it a try. What I did was look to see what was suggested, then comments of the families I researched. They labeled the bins with either picture or word labels. I did both, However my son's classes are not of the normal Brick and mortal school. He is taking a Civics class. He is in a G.U.M. class, it stands for Grammar Usage Mechanics, and Literature, and Fundamental of Geometry and Algebra so I needed some special tags I could Velcro on the bins the little icon images on Google images. My son loves monkeys, so for Literature I found a Curious George  looking through a set of binoculars, and a pencil for his writing class and then a State Capital Building for his Civics Class, for Vocabulary I found a icon that had Alpha letters at random, He has his covers of his 3 ring binders done in a similar way but with some different images to keep them form being boring. The K-12 program has the kids in Grades 3-8th do Study Island so to help get them prepared for FCAT, so we made (I)  made him few blue ribbons reminders. I made some Ribbons on my Cricut to give him when he earned them on the computer as a reward too. to hang up as an incentives! I purchased my shelf unit at Target for $19.99 and 2 sets of 5  pk. bins for $ 5.99 each there also. We rotate the bins to fill as his daily plan changes.

Sweat Pea has a watchful eye, like a good scientist, my kids say!

There is a squirrel on a stepping stone if you look closely just below where the level of
where the sun and the side walk area meet. but this little cat is a very watchful one.
His bell came off his collar recently, but he has been a good kitty. No presents, thank goodness!

A project about Sun Dials to see how fast the Earth rotates

Here my 9th grader, "G" is doing a project to with her binoculars, which has a compass, an piece of scrap wood, and her phone to record the time in seconds.
"G" Is looking through the binoculars to observe the written questions on her assignment, she also made a statement saying, "Hey! Where did my shadow go?" hee hee  I think it is funny that she didn't know I was hearing her and wanted to write it in the blog. LOL
"G is seen here with her computer to listen in to her teacher during a Class Connect time, this is when the kids interact with with the teacher via internet connection, they can type or use a microphone to talk to other student and the teacher.
Her recorded information gave this every 30 minutes 1 1/2 cm.    Project:  Earth Science 4/23/12

A funny thing... We have Hermit Crabs in our Science Center, but it took a month for dad to figure it out!

I needed to take Gabby and Tom to the Endocrinologist last week, it is in Fort Myers, a little over an hour drive for us to get to the doctors and on the way back from the visit I said to the kids, lets stop at the Shell Factory, it is in the Northern part of the city, pretty much in no-man's land... While walking around I told the kids " wouldn't it be funny if we came home with the crabs!" we got 2, plus a medium tank, all the sand and food, so while walking around we were getting some them, a book on shells, a hand carved bookmark for Connor for having good grades, so Wow! I wonder how long it will take for your him to notice them," Well today is one week later he hasn't said anything... I'll let ya'll know how long it took... Well after a month my 14 year old finally told him! We have two extra pets, he was fine with it! He actually enjoys having the little 5.5 gallon tank put on the table to watch every so often. They crawl around more in the Kitchen area then in Set up Science area for some reason.

A little Look At Our Virtual School Set Up

Hello, I just wanted to share a little bit of some of the daily life of how I spend with my two younger cubs. They do virtual school, it is not the normal "Home School" as some people do. The county school board has a pretty good program that comes to our house Via Internet and Books, through UPS and the kids have teachers that come online and teach them the core subjects. They can call them or K-mail them when they have questions or needed support. I have purchased extra supplies for guidance and made with the Cricut some centers signs for them to have as though they would have in a regular school. My son "Monkey" Is making a Meiosis Mobile for a Science project! Thanks for reading, more to come soon :)

Popcorn word help! Please

I borrowed this image from Google images, I do not claim it as my own: it is posted here just to show as an example of what I would like as the project I would like to hopefully achieve!
My son 13, 7th grade, loves Popcorn, like most teenagers, but I figured this might be a way to help him write down his vocabulary words from his, Virtual School K-12 Classical Roots B Vocab book, and the type and paste the definitions then he can binder ring clip instead of the traditional index cards. So if any of you know which Cricut cartridge would have the image of one on it or something similar, or some teachers in the family who know how to do some of the fancy images we have seen posted on Pinterest or Teacher pay teachers, please ask them if they could lend a hand. Thank you.
